I'm making a lancashire hotpot and only have savoy cabbage in the fridge for veg. Can someone give me a tip on how to zwoosh it up a bit to make it more exciting please?

stir fry, shredded
with bacon too sometimes

nigella's idea from Feast is nice - heat some butter and oil, add shredded cabbage and let it wilt and go glossy, add veg stock and cook

shred, blanch, then stir fry with butter and (pre-fried) bits of bacon.

Yummy - and my DC love it too.

Second duckyfuzz's suggestion - this is a really good recipe. You only have to cook it for a few minutes after you put the stock in. As Nigella points out, it also reheats well.

in fact its so nice we're having it for tea tonight, with toad in the hole - DTs love it

We've just eaten - I did the Nigella recipe and it was absolutely delicious. DS and DD wolfed it down! Thank you.
