I've got some lamb steaks that need eating tonight, any idea what I can do with them that sounds more intereting then meat and two veg? Ideas please!

I found a lamb steak in my freezer the other day (couldn't work out what it was at first!) and I used it in a stir fry.

Very quick and easy, the dc really liked it.

Well I'd do them with potato dauphoise adn a redcurrant gravy and then some nice, possibly roasted root veg. But thats probably still too much like meat and 2 veg.

Or you could do a nice curry adn rice.

Or a morrocan tagine type thing.

Or marinade them in spices and serve with flatbread or totillas, salad (possibly even tabbloeh(sp?)) and a yogurt dip

I've got limited veg- carrots and potatoes, mushy peas... that's it I think? But I do have noodles.

You could spice them up a bit and add mint and creme fraiche, flagelot beans and lemon juice. Think I've done this before so must have recipe somehwere, twas yum.

Can I bring them round to your house for tea Armadillo? Sounds lovely but no idea how to make the posh spuds?

Do a stir fry then. Everyone loves noodles here...

My idea of stir fry is very basic!

Small bit of finely sliced onion, crushed garlic clove fried in a bit of veg oil. Add very thin sliced lamb and some shoyu. Serve with rice and peas. Stir fried noodles and carrots would be fine too.

That's it.

potato dauphnoise is easy.

Finely slice some potatoes and onions and layer them in a dish with garlic.

Pour over cream and top with freshly ground black pepper. Sprinkle some cheese on the top and put in a oven at about 170 for 1 hour.

You can probably do it a fancier way but that's how I would do it.

Lovely yummy ideas thanks! I'm going to stirfry them with the carrots and noodles and add a salad. I will try the tatties another time but they sound delicious and ever so fattening!
