or would I have to buy it?

If you can make it, how would I go about doing that?

Thanks

is this what you mean:

Melted sugar glue

Measure about 1 cup (250 mL) of sugar into a heavy skillet. Place over medium heat and cook, stirring occasionally, until the sugar melts and liquefies - about 5 to 10 minutes. Reduce the heat to ultra-low to keep the sugar glue liquefied throughout the construction process. Watch closely avoid burining, and be careful handling it because it is screamingly hot.

I remember making it with my gran when I was a child in the 70's. My most vivid memory is of it being in a beer mug.

What do you want it for? If just sticking together lumps of icing (as it were) then there is a cheat - take scraps of icing (moulding icing) and mash them with a tiny bit of water (I find hot works best) - and you have glue (or something close enough that it has always worked for me )

If it's for icing, then as steathsquiggle says you can make it with sugarpaste plus a little bit of water. Or you can buy it.

If you want it for (e.g.) sticking gingerbread together then you want the melted one as per Seona1973's instructions.

Egg white works just as well for sticking stuff together too, if you're not worried about using raw egg.

it's for sticking pink sugar to sugarpaste on a cake, I'll give all 3 ways a whirl while I'm trying out my cake tomorrow. Thanks

the mashed sugarpaste should work fine for that.

brill, saves me messing around melting sugar or using raw eggs since it's for my pg sil.

Thanks very much
