My hens have started laying again, I'm out of practice in using them up. Before i get going again, what nice egg recipe would you recommend.

Racingsnake · 07/02/2009 22:10

I asked this a few weeks ago and people recommended frittata, cakes, custard, Spanish omlette, egg fried rice, etc. I also used some for trading purposes (swapped 6 for 2 toilet seats ) and gave some to a friends 90-year old father.

And I love meat loaf with hard-boiled eggs in the middle, egg curry, drained pasta with a couple of eggs, some cream and some garlic stirred in to cook in the hot pasta, eggs in mustard sauce, eggs in parsley sauce, Russian salad with hard-boiled eggs ...

davidbowiescodpiece · 07/02/2009 22:10

I would make some yummy scrambled eggs in the morning and then a pasta carbonara in the evening.

Guadalupe · 07/02/2009 22:11

We get through ten eggs for breakfast here sometimes!

Racingsnake · 07/02/2009 22:11

when my lovely dses went sledging down the hallway last sunday, one sitting on carrier bag and the other one pulling - you've guessed it the bag that happened to have a dozen new free range eggs in it - well we did one mighty big lot of baking. All eaten now though ...ah well!!

peachface · 07/02/2009 22:16

Scrambled eggs with green lentils (from a tin) on top, all on toast. Yum. And cake. (Don't put that on the toast)

Fry chopped onions, diced cooked potato and frozen veg in a frying pan. Pour over 5-6 eggs mixed with a little grated cheese. Top with more cheese and put under the grill until set. Yum

tumtumtetum · 07/02/2009 22:31

StirlingTheStrong · 07/02/2009 23:01

Make a bread and butter pudding. The recipe I have calls for 8 eggs!

Or Queen of Puddings - 4 eggs.

I can supply recipes if required

extremelychocolateymilkroll · 07/02/2009 23:01

fishie - do you have a recipe for flourless chocolate cake?

fishie · 07/02/2009 23:13
