what do you store herbs/spices in?

I wanted to get some nice jars on a shelf for mine, all prettily labelled so they look nice when the kitchen's done up. My oh reckons well washed coffee jars with the same colour lid will do!

Any thoughts or suggestions please?

I used HIPP organic stage one apple sauce jars - they are dinky. I don't label mine, if you can't open it, sniff and work out what it is - it's off!

I thought maybe that would affect the smell or taste though, as in maybe you'd get a hint of what was in there first? Or do you not get that?

If not then I'll happily save some jars to use so long as they'll look ok

Nope I stick them in the dishwasher but boiling water does just as well!

in that case I'll have a look see what we have & keep some of those. I'll just make sure I wash them well first. Ta wmmc
