Cake Stand £5.99 Sainsburys

Does anyone have this? It seems to be much cheaper than other cakestands I've seen.

my mil was on about this. BHs have some nice ones - but double the price!

Thanks for your replies. To be honest I've just got into baking cakes and saw this advertised somewhere. Good point about the size.

To ask a philistine question - what's the benefit to a cake stand - isn't it just like putting the cake on a plate but just a bit higher?

blametheparents, definately lush. very pretty. wish my oh bought me pretty stuff like that! I desperately wanted the most gorgous handbag I'd seen in ages & never got it

With a cake stand on the table you can fit more goodies underneath! And you can feel all Cath Kidston/Nigella Lawson when you put it out with your best tablecloth (not wipe clean!) and some doilies.

I definitely think I need a cake stand. Candlequeen - the Ikea one does look good. I probably also need a cake sized tin as I currently have to cut the cake up once cooked to get it into my containers. Does anyone have any recommendations?
