this one (use halloumi instead of manouri) or stoved artichokes from Cranks (made this the other night and it was pretty good although tremendously calorific).

Nigel Slater had a recipe we saved from a newspaper-
roast them with olive oil, butter, thyme, lemon zest.

I like them best stoved, too (I can't get that link above to open but I just cook them slowly in a lidded pan with butter and a splash of water). In fact we might have them for tea tonight!
All my books rave about what fabulous soup they make, but mine always comes out a bit muddy tasting. If anyone has a good one I'd love to hear it.
