Out of date biscuits - are they still ok?

I've found some biscuits in the cupboard that were out of date on 01.01.09. Do you think they would still be ok to eat - they're just plain butter biscuits. Just wanted to check as the biggest biscuit eater in our house is ds2.

Thanks

I'd eat them. I'd give them to DS too.

good lord, what do you expect to be wrong with them? at worst they might be a little soft or stale. I'd eat them no problem if they tasted ok.

If they look smell and taste ok, they're probably ok to be honest.

thanks will decant them into the biscuit tin and stop worrying about something so small

Yes because I think you will find that they are labelled with a "best before" date which is exactly that...best before...but TBH you probably won't even notice.

Things that have a use by date on you have to be more careful - like dairy stuff

mmmm just wanted to let you know they are delicious and still very crunchy - have to stop scoffing them now
