As long as the egg is ok, your 18 month old will be. And when was the last time you or anyone you knew got ill from eating a raw egg?

jchandler · 20/01/2009 20:22

im hearing you, but still very worried as baby was very difficult to settle tonight when usually she goes straight off.

Oh I hope for your peace of mind she is ok. But even if she isn't, it could be anything, and probably is rather than the raw egg. I have let my children lick the spoon at that sort of age and never had any problems.

Oh I always let dd lick the bowl. It's the best bit!

I agree that it is rare for eggs to carry food poisoning now.

Salmonella is the most common food poisoning with raw eggs. It shows symptoms from 8 hours after the food being eaten. How long ago did you let her eat it? If less than 8 hours I am sure she is just being fussy and is not ill
