Winter smoothie recipes, when there's not much cheap fruit around

In summer, I mostly just chuck in a banana plus whatever is around and cheap at the time, with sometimes a handful of something that's more of a luxury.

But in winter, there's so little choice unless you spend a fortune.

My stop-gap is:
2 bananas
2 oranges
1 tin pineapple
1 tine peaches

Can you offer any inspirational alternatives?

apples. frozen stuff - raspberries etc. pineapple freezes well for liquidising.

Frozen stuff works well. Sainbury do bags of frozen fruits such as fruits of the forest; mango; black cherries. oftern on 3 for 2.

Thanks all.

What do you do with the apples fishie? Do you cook them, or juice them, or what?

I don't think my cheapie liquidizer could cope with raw apples!

Not exactly a smoothie (or as healthy as he other suggestions), but very yummy:

Banana, milk, tablespoon of peanut butter, teaspoon of honey/maple syrup/malt extract.
