Frozen raspberries instead of fresh?

A recipe says to use fresh raspberries but they are so flippin' expensive and I've already got some frozen ones. Anybody reckons it's worth trying the frozen ones? Frozen fruit is very dodgy, I know (frozen strawberries are hideous!) but as the recipe is cooked I wonderd if it was worth a go. My instinct tells me it won't be nearly as nice (especially as the recipe specifies fresh) but I am just forlornly hoping that you will all say "no, no, frozen will be fine!"

It's this recipe, incidentally:

I use frozen blackberries and blueberries in cakes all the time. No problem.

I have just discovered 'frozen mixed berries' for cooking with and they are great. I wonder why strawberries go so odd.
