Chicken curry in slow cooker anyone?

Has anyone got a nice, easyish recipe for a curry in the slow cooker?
I have to say I've been a wee bit disullusioned with my slow cooker after hankering after one for ages. Last week I made onion soup and beef casserole in it and I have to say my onions and potatoes were still hard!

do you put the lentils in raw yorkie

I'm (still!) thinking about buying a slow cooker

chicken, onions, mushrooms (add towards the end of the cooking time), peppers etc tin or two of tomatoes and tsps each of cumin, garam masala, coriander, turmeric and chili powder. If you like an extra kick, add a few chili flakes.

When it's cooked stir in a tin of coconut milk... yum!

Although I love my slow cooker I avoid cooking white meat in it as it ends up dry. Beef and lamb are superb but chicken and pork are better done in the oven as they tend to cook better at a higher temperature.
So, no I don't have a chicken curry recipe.

that should be 2 tsps each...

Oh Goober, I don't find that at all. I did a chicken casserole yesterday and the meat was amazing.

I think it depends on your slow cooker and what setting you use as to whether the veg etc will be soft.

ie in mine, i can switch on at say 10.30am on high, for a tuscan bean stew which has loads of veg in and sausage chunks. By 6pm it will all be scrumptious.
My mums slow cooker however needs to be left all night to do the same dish.

Mine's fairly new so even the low setting cooks everything perfectly. I use the low setting if I'm putting it on in the morning for tea and can leave it all day; medium/high if I have less time.

I've just got a recipe book for slow cookers. heres a recipe that I'm going to try this week;

2tbsp oil
2tbsp butter
4 chicken breast cubed
2 chopped green chillis
2 chopped onions
1 crushed garlic clove
2 cardamom pods
1 tsp ground ginger
1/2 tsp turmeric
1 can chopped tomatoes
salt and pepper

heat oil and butter in frying pan and brown chicken. put in slow cooker
fry onions, garlic, chillis in frying pan for 2 mins
add all other ingredients. bring to boil. put in slow cooker

cook on high for 2-3 hrs or low 4-6

I'm sure you can bung it all in and cook for a bit longer.
