How much sugar do you /your family consume in one month?

I am not sure I am posting in the right place but...

I was just asking myself that question. As a family of 6, we consume just under a kg of sugar per month. (I do quite a bit of baking as well) is that too much?

I buy one bag of sugar probably every 6 months, then its only used for guests tea or coffee.

Absolutely no idea. I use a lot of sugar in baking (Just cleared out my cupboards, moving soon, and found 6 different kinds of sugar) but other than that I don't add it to anything except tomato sauce.

Gori - you bake LOADS! And some of the Algerian baking is very sweet (and madly delicious). Look at your children - they are fit, slim, tall and healthy! You also walk 6 miles a day and so do they, plus all your other exercise.

In terms of teeth, they would get as much sugar, if not more (I suspect more) if you didn't bake and make from scratch, so much of your own food.

Here's a thing though - you know I drink gallons of coffee a day? Well I switched to sweetners just before Christmas. I can tell a sweetner in a coffee from about 100 paces away BUT they have improved them significantly over recent years and they're much more tolerable now, so get DH to try them. In fact, just slip a few brews in with a sweetner and see if he even notices!

Have I helped?
