Tommy · 08/01/2009 08:19

if I am making mini toad in the hole - i.e. in a muffin tin, do I need to cook the sausages first or just for ten minutes or so before I pour over the batter?

TIA

I usually brown them quickly before putting them in tin.

I usually cook mine first for about ten minutes then pour over the batter. Yummy!
Make sure the oven is hot hot hot when you put the batter in.

make sure the tin is hot hot hot in the hot hot hot oven (oil should be almost smoking) before you put the batter in. I knackered my muffin tin cos I didn't have it hot onough and they all stuck and had to chisle them out, doh

fry them off then add a little apple juice, and cook the sausages in that til it darkens in colour. It makes it really sweet and the kids love it.
