Semolina perhaps?

Haven't got any of that either!
Oh well! Will have to find some other recipe if there is no alternative.

Any other ideas? Looking at this cake recipe again!
Would leaving it out make a difference? Maybe adding 2oz extra sr flour?

2 oz extra flour i think

Cornflour? (since rice flour would not contain gluten, I would try this before ordinary flour)

Add 2ox extra flour. The rice flour just changes the texture slightly - you will be fine without it.

Thanks, that make it much easier.

Tortoise You can substitute flour instead of ground rice but if you have ground rice it gives your cake a lovely nutty flavour & texture.
