Does marinating meat help it keep?

We have some pheasant thighs. DP wants to do a meal with them the day after tomorrow. I don't think they'll keep that long. if i marinade them in wine tomorrow, will this help them keep?

Dh says don't forget you can hang pheasant for three weeks.
But yes, if you marinade and put in the fridge it will be fine.
