My lo is 2 in 3 weeks, I'm making noah's ark cake for her as she loves her noah bath toy and non-bath toy with figures.

I told MIL I'd make figures to go on it myself and have been practising with the lo's play d'oh. Trouble is, both my giraffes head and elephants head look as though they're competing in a who has the biggest willy competiton!

Any instructions? Or advice? would be gratefully recieved to avoid embarrassing(sp?) myself!

Go to your local library and get a Carol Deacon Cake book. She has made loads, so you should be able to find one. She has even done a Noahs Ark one, iirc. She does very easy step by step pictures to help you through. If you can't find one, come back and I'll see if I can scan my copy and I'll email it to you if you like.

Oh sorry! I've just looked in my books and I haven't got the Noahs ark one! Do try your library though, there'll be plenty of help there.

I have a couple of books with animals (including a simple Noah's Ark) in that I can scan and email/post the instructions to you, if you like.

The other thing I would suggest is getting hold of some gum tragacanth which thickens the sugarpaste and makes it a lot easier to model with. I'll send you some with the instructions if you like, you don't need much!
