Getting bored with usual sauces. Does anyone have any favourites to share for DS (3) and DD (1) please?

Probably usual sauces as I'm bored with them too and could do with more, but fwiw

classic cheese sauce with tuna (then oven baked for crispy top)

siciliana (sp!) sauce - finely chopped onion and aubergine with tinned toms and lardons

courgettes and mushrooms with creme fraiche

er...

1/2 fat creme fraiche
little onion/shallot chopped fine
peas or spinach when a bit older
grated parmesan

or melt mozerella in a tomato sauce.

Mine love spaghetti and meatballs at moment (meatballs = pork mince, couple slices bread, half an onion clove of garlic parsley and an egg food-processed then rolled in flour and baked in 180 oven for about 20 mins) then simmered in any old tomato sauce

pesto tuna and peas (much nicer than it sounds)

roast some cherry tomatoes in the oven with basil and serve with crispy pancetta on penne
