Split red lentils - urgent question

Holymoly321 · 04/01/2009 14:04

am making a lasagne - cooking the bologanise sauce on hob then putting in oven once it's made up into the lasagne for 40 mins. Can I just put some split red lentils in the bolognaise base and let them cook for the 40 mins once it's in the oven or do I have to precook the lentils seperately first?

I would cook them in the base.

do you mean let them cook in the bol base on the hob for 30 mins then put it all in the oven for the 40 mins to cook the lasange?

You cook them in the sauce before assembling the lasagne

is half an hour going to be ok?

Cook them in the sauce - between 20 minutes and half an hour should be fine, depending on how well done you like them.
