I've had enough of sliced meat, sausage rolls etc so I'm thinking of doing chilli and jacket potato.

What are you having?

goldFAQinsenceandmyrrh · 29/12/2008 11:25

Furball · 29/12/2008 11:32

turkey caserole with celery, carrots, onion and pearl barley. I'll serve with mash and broccoli.

compo · 29/12/2008 11:33

my mil insisted that the turkey wouldn't be ok to eat beyond yesterday, although we still have one huge leg in the fridge

Clarissimo · 29/12/2008 11:34

roast pork etc (parents here and we had salmon on The Day so OK)

had chilli wraps yesterday though

Oovavu · 29/12/2008 11:36

I'm going to do a variation of the turkey and leek pie that Jamie Oliver did on his Christmas programme. We tried it out with chicken last week and it was scrummy. Have run out of leeks so will do it with lots of onion and fresh cabbage instead.

Tis very yummy. I'll post the recipe if you want.

Thomcat · 29/12/2008 11:46

Hmmm dunno actually.

I made an asparagus quiche / pie thing which we'll probably have for lunch and DP is making some bread, but not thought as far as an evening meal. Probably a basic pesto pasta in that case, or egg & chips????

aGalChangedHerName · 29/12/2008 11:49

Mmmm egg and chips yum. We never have that now cos the ds's hate eggs. The dd's love em however. We could ahve bacon egg and chips!!

pasta with homemade tomato sauce. Happy never to see another piece of Stilton.

MissisBoot · 29/12/2008 13:05

Here you go...

Soften 2 finely chopped cloves of garlic with 1-2 tsp chilli flakes.
Then add a bag of frozen king prawns (you can use fresh/raw/cooked) and cook for a few minutes til cooked. Then add a generous glug of white wine and a few big squeezes of tomato puree and sun dried tomato puree. Leave to simmer for a few minutes til it makes a sauce and then stir in cooked pasta of your choice - spaghetti is best I think.
Then stir in a good handful of roughly chopped rocket and eat!

MissisBoot · 29/12/2008 13:06

That serves two btw - although could easily reach three - my and dh are too greedy and like lots of prawns!

PavlovtheRedNosedReindeer · 29/12/2008 13:06

A burger in JFK airport, and then slops on a plane to UK!

cant complain though, had a great time. One day of shit food is not bad!
