Making gravy......

Hi. On boxing day I am doing roast beef in the slow cooker (if it will fit!) I want to make my ow gravy. How do I do it?! Thanks

I would just take the juices and either reduce down or add a bit more watre if needed and then season with salt and pepper. Then put a couple of heaped teaspoons cornlour in enough water to make a runny paste & mix well. Remove gravy from heat, whisk in cornflour paste gradually until desired thickness. Voila!

You could also fry off onions until browned first, and then make gravy in that pan and strain before serving. Likewise with bacon. You can do lots of variants on the basic recipe, eg adding some wine as the extra liquid or using different herbs etc.
