I do a thingie with fried onion, coriander & mashed potato - but it doesn't stay in 'cakes' very well what could I add (baring in mind I am a very fussy eater) to 'bind' it all together a bit more

Thanks

Make the mash less runny? Or coat in breadcrumbs.

Less runny?

Leave lumps in you mean?

do you put butter and milk in the mash? i usually do and when i made fish cakes the first time they fell to pieces. then next time i made them, i just put the mashed potato in with no butter or milk and the fishcakes held together much much better.

Just mash......

You could coat them in breadcrumbs to try and get them to hold better.

Sorry, not being much help here.

S'OK - you are at least answering me

Anyway they are made (in pieces) and about to be eaten

Do you put them in the fridge to rest for a bit before you cook them?

Makes a big difference.

No, but I will try next time
