we have a morphy richards - bought it for a fab price off amazon almost 2yrs ago. in permanent use, reliable, easy to use and easy to clean
keeps me happy!

I've got an Panasonic - SD 255.It's fab and quite slimline.

I've got a Panasonic which is good but I wish I'd gone for the one with the rye paddle and raisin do-dah.

Previously had a Russel Hobbs which was quicker but had curved paddle which tended to tear huge chunks out of loaf - panasonic ususally leave neat slot.

We bought this cheapo one as we weren't sure if we were going to get much use out of it but it's been brilliant and has lots of functions that more expensive ones have too. We use it to make all of our bread, and we are going to start making pizza dough too which another mner suggested.

SD 255 has said doo-dah. Never used it!

Thanks for replies so far - DP loves the idea of the cheapo one! I know I'll use it about 3/4 times a week, so fairly heavy use I guess.

Have heard good things about the Panasonic, but also think the Morphy Richards Accent (?) is very attractive (an important consideration, surely?).

well, in the end got this one from Argos as it was such a good price but it's faulty - replacement is apparently on its way from Morphy Richards. I'm not actually that keen on it - the lid is a bit flimsy - but before the fault became apparent it was ok!

we have a panasonic (it's our third....other makes just couldn't hack it!)- am very pleased.

Also have the panasonic with the raisin doo-dah: chose it after exhaustive research (ie asked my mum!). V happy with it.

Do any of these have the foldy down paddle? We had a panasonic and got annoyed with constantly fishing the paddle out of the bottom of the loaf
