purple potatoes

Went out for lunch yesterday and had a potato salad of purple potatoes I asked the chef what they were called and I have a few here from the restaurant but I can't remember the name Anyone?Think it begins with V

I know the one you mean,but the name escapes me.Will have a good think about it.
