Now I saw that statement on the menu given by the catering company that does DS's school dinners....
Does anyone agree with this ? Can someone convince me that this is factually correct????
Please do because I am about to write a stroppy letter to that catering company !
I will aslo e-mail this to the JO website !

BTW... that little statement comes with (other gems!)
The general principles of a balanced diet are:

  1. Eat a variety of different foods everyday
  2. Eat plenty of foods rich in startch and fibre like breads, cereals, potatoes, rice and pasta
  3. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables
  4. Eat a moderate amount of meats, fish, vegetarian alternatives and dairy foods
  5. Do not eat too many foods that contain a lot of fat, salt and sugar.

Aspartame. No, all artificial sweetners. Boak. They are all vile and horrid for the body.

DD & I have developed a pact...we aren't going to but anything that has more than 10 ingredients. We started today with cereal, she could chooses between weetabix with chocolate bits or honey puffs ? everything else was packed with stuff.

We are now looking at toothpaste

We are going to try and introduce (or eliminate) 1 or 2 foods a week

I don't think that a food is healthy or unhealthy but I do feel that processing can make a food undesirable.
