Freezing home made chicken pie

Have never made pie before but have loads of leftover roast chicken. Want to make a chicken pie to put in freezer - thing is do I put in freezer once pastry has been put on, or do I bake it as if I were to eat it straightaway and then put in freezer?

I would put it in the freezer with the pastry uncooked then defrost before cooking.

Thank you DaisyMoo

Any idea, when I come to cook it, do I defrost before putting in oven or cook from frozen like they tell you to do with shop bought pies?

Well I'd probably defrost it before cooking, but then I have quite a fierce oven so would worry about cooking the pastry before the chicken is thoroughly reheated.
