Can I make dumplings in the slow cooker?

I've got a stew cooking away in the slow cooker, and I'd like to make some dumplings to go with it but not sure if they'll cook at that sort of heat. Or do I have to get a meal's worth of stew out, and put it in a saucepan to simmer?

I did dumplings in the slow cooker last week. I switched it to high and left them in about half an hour. They were lovely!

Am giving it a go!
