baby refusing milk - help

My DD is 7 months old and is refusing all her milk feeds, up until last week she was having 3 bottles a day of ab out 6oz now she won't have any thing. She has 3 meals a day, should i be worried??????

bump please any advice?

is she drinking other liquids? plenty of wet nappies? what's the food / milk spacing?

yeah drink really weak baby juice prob about 8oz throughout the day.

She used to have 7am milk 6oz, 9.30 breakfast, 12.30 lunch, 3.00 milk 6-7oz, 5.00 dinner and 7.30 milk 6oz. Now its that without the milk. Apart from 3oz first thing...........

what about trying something other than a bottle teat to give her the milk - avent spout maybe? I don't think I'd worry for a while as long as there's calcium in the food she's eating and she seems well hydrated. Is she teething / otherwise poorly? What about trying a different kind of milk? (assuming she's having formula). I wouldn't worry overmuch but I would definitely keep persisting with offering milk at this age. Maybe try different timings also - mid morning for instance?

wonder if she'd drink the milk if she didn't have juice? Maybe offer water instead of juice?

Tried the different teats and spouts she will suck on them and as soon as she realises its milk she cries and spits it out. She was on SMA gold and this happened a couple of months ago so changed to aptimil 1st and she couldn't get enough of it. Do you think i should try another milk???? I can get her to dream feed but really don't want to get in the habit of her having a feed late as then she has even less first thing. Kids who'ld have em, nothing but worry x

i had exactly same thing when my little boy was younger (now 14mnths) all the health profs i spoke to said it absolutely wasn't a problem once he was on solids, told me to give dairy with everything....cheese sprinkled on all meals, milk puddings , milky porridge and yoghurts, she'll get plenty of calcium fron that lot!!!

Hi mmmmchocolate, My dd did that at about that age if not a touch earlier, as she liked solids more. I just took hv's advice and gave plenty of youghurt, cheese etc and she is a very chubby happy 1 year old who will only have milk (cows) once b4 bed. Don't worry too much

Thanks, will try not to. Think its other mums i see when i say she isn't having any milk, they look at me as if i am starving her and should do something about it. But she is a very happy baby if she was crying i would be worried more.

We had exactly the same thing happen at 7 months.DD just loved her solids so much that she refused to drink milk.My HV said that it is quite common & her dd never drank milk again after 7 months either.She just said to make sure she gets calcium in yoghurts,cheese sauces,milky puddings ect.

I was out of my mind with worry over it at the time,but 11 months down the line,dd is fine,happy,healthy & will drink milk last thing at night before bed.Apparently some babies just get bored by milk-once they taste solids there is no contest!

I had this problem at about the same age, I changed to only giving her milk first thing and last thing, which worked along with (as suggested) lots of dairy produce.

We have had the same problem with ds (now 11 months) and I must admit I was quite glad to discover that so many babys seem to be doing the same. He is on one bf a day now and otherwise just takes milk in his food (yoghurt, cheese, cereals with milk etc) but he is a very happy child and drinks water and diluted juice, so there is probably nothing to worry about.

DD2 has never really liked milk!! She has a few ounces in 4 bottles a day, nowhere near the pint!
How much of other foods make up the calcium?
