I made some shortcrust pastry yesterday and it has been in the fridge over night. It will be ok to use wont it? Is there anything I need to do/add to it ?

Sorry, I am a complete baking noob!

afaik it is better if it is chilled, and so should be fine to use as it is.

Iklboo · 11/12/2008 14:06

Yup - shortcrust is much better to use when it's been chilled.
IIRC you need to get puff pastry out 20 mins before use though to 'relax' it so it doesn't shrink as much

deckthegirlandboywithholly · 11/12/2008 14:06

It should be fine. Pastry is better if it's been rested anyway.

Enjoy! Hope you're making something yummy!

suzywong · 11/12/2008 14:07

yes it will be PERFECT to use

don't forget to preheat your oven and has it been wrapped in clingfilm?

thumbElf · 11/12/2008 14:08

i prefer to make it the night before - always works out fine

Xavielli · 11/12/2008 14:38

Yes its been wrapped all night. I made sausage rolls with it last night and they actually turned out alright! I seemed to have loads left over so stuck it in the fridge and I bought Mincemeat today so mince pies Ahoy!!

Thanks alot ladies!
