Want to make DS a birthday cake - have no idea where to start!

Is it a victoria sponge recipie? Whats the icing that goes over?

I want to be able to write his name on and stuff

any advice?

Just found this in recipe section. If you want to make it bigger just increase number of eggs and then up the other quantities.

For basic icing, I usually measure out 125g icing sugar and then add just a couple of spoons of hot water and mix like mad. You dont want it too runny so dont add too much water. Add colouring now if you want it coloured.

Spread over cake. Buy the icing tubes in tescos, they are ideal for writing on the cake.
