im just about to make dd's birthday cake, i was going to do a plain sponge but have now decided to go for a chocolate one,
do i just substitute some of the flour for cocoa powder, how much? do i need to add baking powder or anything?

just add come cocoa powder into the mixture, until it goes a nice light chocolate colour

no no no - you need to replace some of the flour with cocoa powder or it will end up very dry. For a 3 egg/6/6/6 oz cake I would replace 2oz of the flour with cocoa powder

ok,i replaced some flour with cocoa powder, not sure how much but didnt go over the 6oz in total so i will let you know how it goes!
