Call trading standards yourself

elliott · 08/12/2008 13:59

environmental health I think...

thenewme · 08/12/2008 14:00

I wouldn't take it back. I would phone the FSA.

CliffRichardSucksEggsInHell · 08/12/2008 14:00

Environmental Health.

It's a health issue.

OrmIrian · 08/12/2008 14:00

Do you need to threaten them with anyone? Presumably you want money back plus some sort of compensation? What's to say they won't oblige?

jollyholly · 08/12/2008 14:00

I want my money back though - I had to spend nearly £7 on cooked sandwich meat at the garage supermarket so that we'd got something to eat with the veg I cooked last night!

I would contact environmental health before you take it back.
The point of doing that, is to stop the store poisoning people by bad food safety practice, not as a stick to beat compensation out of them

ruddynorah · 08/12/2008 14:02

you will get your money back without threatening anything. sheesh.

the story of the cooked sandwich meat will make you sound like a loon.

jollyholly · 08/12/2008 14:03

OK, no need to flame me.

That should have been done to the chicken

OP posts:
thenewme · 08/12/2008 14:04

Yes, don't tell them you bought stuff from the garage. Just veg wouldn't have killed anyone.

hifi · 08/12/2008 18:59

couldnt it have been cooked more in your own oven?

misdee · 08/12/2008 19:02

hifi notb he point, they are meant to check their food is cooked all the way throygh (is this from the deli?) and check temps.

piscesmoon · 08/12/2008 19:22

Do you need to threaten them? I don't expect that you will have a problem returning it.

thenewme · 09/12/2008 17:06

What happened?

jollyholly · 09/12/2008 22:17

Sorry, I stayed away incase I was being flamed

The manager at Tesco was absolutely mortified, said he would investigate immediately how it had happened as it's not supposed to be possible.

(And they refunded my purchase plus compensation)
