Christmas cake feeding....

How often?
How much at a time?
How many times before icing it??

If I didn't feed it at all would it taste awful?

I feed mine once a week. I just sort of drizzle the brandy over the top until the cake looks sort of wet (maybe an extra bit cos its a very hungry cake!) I unwrap my cake to leave it to dry a bit before the glaze and marzipan go on. I don't think an unfed cake would taste awful. Maybe just be a bit dry?
