I usually go by 20mins a pound plus 20 mins, yours will be a bit under 5.5lb so I'd say 2 hours 30 (although I always overdo mine as I'm paranoid about chicken so if I'm honest, I'd probably leave it for 3 hours just in case!)

Oh, heat - I usually do everything at around 200 degree C out of habit really. Wouldn't go hotter.

190 degrees.

Saint Delia says:

Roast for 20 minutes per lb (450 g) plus 10-20 minutes extra ? this will be 1 hour and 50 minutes to 2 hours for a 5 lb (2.25 kg) bird. For the final 15 minutes of cooking, increase the heat to gas mark 7, 425°F (220°C) to give the skin that final golden crispiness. When it is cooked, remove it from the oven and cover it with foil. Leave to rest for 30 minutes before serving.

So for you, about 70-80 minutes.

Thought you said 1.4kg. Don't listen to me, you'll all die of some horrible under-cooked chicken disease...

usually you would could 20 mins per 500 gram plus 20

190oc about 2 hrs roughly just under
