Mince Pie Recipe with Cream Cheese & Orange Pastry

Pastry
1lb Plain Flour (500g)
6oz icing or caster sugar (175g)
12oz Butter (375g)
Finely grated rind and juice of one large orange.

Sift flour and sugar. Cut butter into pieces ? rub int until mixture is like breadcrumbs. Stir in the grated rind.
Gently stir in orange juice (using knife) until dough starts to form a ball. Pat into a firmer ball, wrap in cling film and chill for 30mins or more before using.

Fillin:
8oz (225 gm)Cream cheese
2oz (50 gm) Caster sugar
Beat together until smooth.

Make up mince pies by cutting tops and bottoms of pastry. On each pastry bottom put one teaspoon of mincemeat, topped by one teaspoon of the cream cheese mixture. Put lids on and cut two small slits in each lid for steam to escape whilst cooking.

Glaze each pie with milk or milk/egg wash.

Cook for 10 minutes at 200C - remove from oven if golden and cooked.
