Is honey good for children?

DD is 15 mo and at nursey today they made honey sandwiches and then had them at snack time. Apparently she loved them and I cannot get her to eat a sandwich for love nor money at home! Is it good for them? I have never liked it and therefore stupidly clueless.

It's just glorified sugar.

Well I wouldn't say it's good for them (mega amounts of sugar) but probably better than Nutella or fish paste

Won't hurt occasionally but I wouldn't give a child honey every day.

Locally produced honey is supposed to be good for helping with hayfever and allergies
