chutney too spicy

I used cayenne pepper instead of paprika in my chutney. And now it blows the roof of your mouth off.

Can I rescue it or should I just bin it?

Are there no chutney experts out there?

Not an expert but as chutney takes so long to make the heat is in every part of the chutney so you can't really add anything to make it cooler.

Your best bet is to make a really big batch of spice free apple, onion and sultana chutney then dilute the hot one into it.

You will end up with loads but hey it christmas so instant extra gifts!

Thanks mamabear think that is the only way.

Was all intended for xmas presents anyway!
