Help needed to find a nice place to eat in Ashby de la Zouch

This might also fit into Christmas but here goes ! A little background my Grandma lives in Ashby de la Zouch, she has decided that this year she is not coming to visit mum and dad for christmas so we are going to visit her for a special day with my dc's on the saturday after christmas. The problem is finding somewhere to go, we would like a child friendly but nice / special pub with good food etc within about 10 - 15 mins of ashby ! over the years we have really struggled to find nice places to go with her but would like this to be really special !

I suggest the forecourt of an Esso garage - ginsters a la orange. ( thats with fanta to you and me)

The Yard in Swadlincote is fab - it's a bar/restaurant & children are welcome until 5pm if eating.

Only a 15min drive up the A511 towards Burton

Can't think of anywhere apart from The Royal Hotel in Ashby.

Found this though which may help you decide.

Anything on Market St will be proper pubs rather than foody i think...

Thanks the Yard looks good, it is so hard my mum grew up there and we have been searching for somewhere like this for years ! We often go to the Royal for familiy do's but is not great to be honest ! We really like the Fallen Knight but it is quite expensive and not at all child friendly !
