I have just bought a pre-cooked chicken from the deli counter. DP is not due home til 4ish, can I re-heat the chicken once it's been carved or should we eat it cold?

Keep it chilled in the fridge from now until you need it and when reheating it make sure it is piping hot and only reheat it once.

Can't put it in the fridge as it's still hot, so it's on the counter.
But as long as it's piping hot I can re-heat it safely as long as I only do it once?

I reckon it should cool down pretty quickly (how about carving it now - that will make it cool down even quicker) and if it was me I would get it in the fridge as soon as poss.

It's lying around chicken that will do you o good. And then you can reheat it once - to piping hot.

Ok. Will do that then. Thanx
