Tinned coconut milk - can I freeze it?

I have a recipe which uses some coconut milk in but not that much, so we have to buy a whole tin of the stuff and then end up throwing the rest away (nobody wants to drink the stuff). It's such a waste. I'd like to be able to freeze the rest in bags so that I can just defrost one every time I want to make this particular recipe.

Any reason why that wouldn't work?

TIA.

I do this quite often, and it's always worked fine for me
