Exciting ideas for pork??

I have recently started eating pork after 30 years as a vegetarian. I have enjoyed it in restaurants and DH was excited when I said I would start cooking it at home, but I grilled some pork loin last week and it was pretty tasteless.
So - does anyone have any ideas about how I can prepare it to make it more tasty? I will be serving it with jackets and veg.
Thanks, Sam

we do pork ribs in hoi sin sauce and cook it slowly in the oven for a couple of hours. You can buy jars of hoi sin sauce in the supermarket - buy the marinade though not the stir fry sauce.

I made pork and pineapple burgers last night, but of course this is with minced pork not a slab of it!!

I do chops in foil.

Drizzle some oil on
sprinkle herbs on
slice some apples on
Bake

Or do the same (in foil) with a barbecue sauce spread on the chops.

I think pork is fairly tasteless any way. You should definately use a sauce and cook in foil to stop it drying out

Thank you - I think I have some barbecue sauce in the cupboard...
OT - once tried making barbecue sauce myself - a complete disaster...

I made Jamies Pork and chilli goulash at the weekend and it was gorgeous. It is slow cooked so it just falls apart. The amounts are for a very large meal but you can always make less.

I made a large amount (for 6) and the next day I chopped the leftover pork up into cubes, blitzed the sauce till it was smooth, mixed the meat back in and served with rice for the second meal.

The only other decent pork recipe I use is for Delia's Meatballs and they are really tasty with the sage and parmesan in them - yummy!

Thank you.
I appear to have imagined the bbq sauce but did find hoisin marinade which helped a bit...

I make a v lovely old Delia recipe for Spanish pork which is basically a pork & tomato casserole:

cube & brown however much pork you want in a casserole & add sliced peppers, sliced onions. Continue to cook for a bit and then add 1 tin of chopped toms, a good glug of red wine, a handful of stuffed olives cut in half & seasoning. Bring to a simmer and put in oven preheated to Gas mark 3 for about an hour or so.

This is obv very much an approximation of the actual recipe which is from the Complete Cookery Course. I sometimes add some paprika as well.

Pork loin would be pretty tasteless. Meat needs fat.

Best bets are

Roast pork
Pork kebabs with satay sauce. Cube 50g pork. Marinate in grated ginger, garlic, cumin, brown sugar, soy and oil. Thread on kebab sticks and grill. Serve with satay sauce which is a few onions sliced and browned v slowly, 1/2 jar of peanut butter,1/2 tim of coconut milk, and juice from marinade.

Spare ribs
Mix garlic, ginger, 5 spice powder, soy sauce, tomato sauce, sweet chilli sauce and honey. Put in ribs for 2/3 hours, turning occasionally. Grill or roast (keep an eye-they catch easily) and serve with stir fried veggies and steamed rice.
