How long does tahini keep in the fridge for?

I have a jar which must have been opened 6 or 7 months ago. It still looks OK apart from the oil having separated. Will it still be OK?

Afaik the oil acts as a preservative so it should be ok as long as it is covered with oil.

Thanks, yes it is completely covered in quite a thick layer of oil.
