I bought one this morning but have no idea what I do with it - just slice and eat? peel?

Never had one but consulted my "fruit expert". Here goes...

Apparently the flesh of the unripe fruit is unpleasant and bitter when eaten - make sure P is ripe before serving.

Place the fruit inside a bag and keep in a warm place until the tough skin is translucent and the surface gives when gently pressed. Cut off the top and scoop out the sweet jelly-like flesh with a spoon. Discard the large seeds.

Fab, thanks. I don't think it is ripe enough yet. Will do the bag thing
