I've got one, it's not a fancy one but I use it all the time, practically every day. I am hopeless at cooking mashed potato on the hob, but if I steam the potatoes a bit longer than needed, mash is brilliant (and it doesn't all stick to the bottom of the pan, thus rendering said pan useless for evermore)

I have a steamer, but a steel one that you boil on the hob. tis good and I leave it on the hob all the time as I use it everyday. all goes in the dishwasher too, bonus!

Yes I use my electric steamer, its saves using lots of pans and the veg tastes nicer. My mum uses hers for rice and fish too. It also bleeps, when the times up so you can't over do the veg. I used to forget the veg in pans and overcook them.

Mines in the loft never used, it was free. More cleaning I think, its an electric one with tears.

I got one last xmas but didn't use it till about 2 months ago. Now I use it every other day. It's great and as Waltzy said saves using all your pans!

Sainsbury's do a really nice one in the Be Good to Yourself range. Only £19.99, but looks very similar to the £50+ models.

Just bought another from John Lewis today - stainless steel with digital timer £35

I wore my last one out!

I cannot imagine why you would want an electric one. I've got a normal stacking chrome thing. It steams stuff. It's really very easy.

I have a really good one that goes on top of the pan. Rice or pasta cooks in the water, veg in the steamer. Easy to clean, energy efficient.

I had two very cheap steamers that I loved but the both broke.
My ML then gave me her Tefal which you set the time by filling the water up to a certain level, no on or off switch or proper timer. I never got on with it and everything got over cooked and to be honest I thought it was dangerous

but I really want this one
