HELP QUICKLY PLS- Is there a substitute for cider in a recipe?

apple juice? what kind of recipe, is the alcohol reqired or the apple flavour

I have used apple juice as a substitute.

Apple juice? Maybe a splash of wine? Apple brandy? Depends what it is...

Leave it out altogether?
