Joyless Snack No. 157: nuts

In an attempt to be more healthy, and cut down on my chocolate consumption, I've been having a mid morning snack of nuts and raisins. Today, for some reason, I decided not to add the raisins, and even though they're roasted nuts, they're just soooo tedious.

I like roasted nuts. Yes, they have calories, but it's mostly fat, and (imo) fat isn't a bad thing. Waitrose do roasted Marcona almonds that are great.

I like cottage cheese, with ratatouille, or with tomatoes.

Cold sprouts are my favourite of all in fact. And cold roast parsnips. I thought my cold veg tip would be a winner!

NQC: was JUST about to tell about the Waitrose Marcona almonds, they are mega yum! Agree about the fat content: have been doing a diet that doesn't care about fat and it's worked a treat. The theory is that fat doesn't make you fat (ahem, just clogs your arteries), but carbohydrates do. Not Atkins. It's the Curves one. Lost a stone AND it tells you how to not put the weight back on. The jury's out on whether that last bit works.

Also have been branching out into cashews with salt and pepper. But my god, those soy nut things are hard work.

Well the nuts I had were Waitrose roasted mixed nuts. I know what you mean about the marcona almonds - they are good (though I think I've only had them in the tapasy thing with almonds and cheese.

In my heart of hearts I know that the Waitrose nut chocolate is even nicer than the marcona almonds...
