Desperately seeking a good kids cook book

ANy ideas- I want one that we can do together (DS1 is 3) that has a mix of savory and sweet stuff.

Any ideas gratefully recieved - also want to buy him a apron - any other things (will be his xmas pressie as he is a food obsessive!)

Clear instructions, photos of the stages, good variety of recipes.
We have 2 copies now as first is too sticky now.
My 10, 8, and 2 year olds all use it as well as me. Eldest two have used it independently for several years.

this is good

dd2 got it for her birthday - we are making the ghost shaped meringues for halloween

it doesnt have a huge number of recipes but waht it has i really like

and the design of the book makes it hard wearing and wipe clean too

Not sure on a specific cookbook for children-we just go through all my cookbooks and ds chooses what he fancies having a go at (mainly cakes )

Lakeland has a selection childrens bits and bobs for cooking (small bowls,aprons etc).

Ghost meringues!

I have just made some playdough with him, first attempt - he loved making it, and now making stuff. Mind thought it would save me money but spent £35 in supermarket and only went in for Cream of Tartar!

I think the River Cottage Family Cookbook is the best

It has very easy stuff, and pictures actually taken in a real-ish kitchen (if you ignore the Agas)

It has a lot of child friendly cooking, like bread.

It also explains WHY stuff happens, WHERE stuff like milk and potatoes come from. If he isn't asking those questions now, he will very soon
