I bought half a duck from the cheap cabinet of the Co-op - and realised I probably don't have the skill not to ruin in. What would you do with it?

nothing with more than 7 ingrediants or other expensive ingredients please!

Roast it. Have it with usual trimmings.

Does duck have species specific trimmings (like lamb and mint, pork and apple, turkey and cranberry, courgettes and the bin etc?)

lots of duck recipes although as I have only ever roasted it (meat and 2 veg sort of dinner) I can offer no advice.

Get a chinese style marinade and marinate it. Roast it for AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGES and then have with noodles, or rice, and stir fry veg or steamed pak choi.

SlasherGoober · 27/10/2008 20:24

Sorry. I have it with redcurrant jelly.

Roast duck is very nice with baked apples. You can stuff some butter and sage inside the apples, too. Do some roasties in the fat from the duck and gravy, as well.

The best (and easiest!) way we do duck is to baste it often with a mixture of honey, soy sauce, salt & pepper... it makes a crispy skin that tastes exactly like Peking Duck in a restaurant - have with pancakes and hoisin sauce, you'll never look back! yum yum!
