A question about Figs and blackerries

I'd like dd (nearly 1 yr) to try Figs and have looked at sainsburys online. I can buy fresh figs and ready to eat figs.
I'm guessing fresh figs are best? Is that correct?

Also, are frozen fruits (blackberries etc) as good as fresh?

Ready to eat might have been pre-prepared and suffered some small loss of vitamins, I guess. Figs are glorious but high in fibre, so you might see an interesting nappy soon after
Frozen soft fruits like blackberries and raspberries are, IMO, just as good as fresh from the supermarket because they are frozen soon after picking. The texture suffers a bit though, so they are better used in pies etc. A baby's not going to object to a slightly mushy appearance though.
They are best picked yourself or bought from a farm shop, but the rest of us make do with online ordering alas

Thanks Marina
