am providing mulled wine for adults at a houseparty in a couple of weeks. Would like to serve something similar for the children, but obviously without alcohol. Anyone got any ideas please?

Hash-spiked cocoa?

It's great with apple juice - I always make a non-alcoholic one for drivers etc. Bear in mind kids may not like it and may prefer plain juice or hot berry juice - Ribena or Lingonsaft from Ikea. Mine love Ikea non-alcoholic Glugg but lots of their friends find it too spiced.

we got some really yummy stuff at Aldi, i'm off to see if i can get you a link. we had the M&S version last year, as with 3dc and myself and mum and mil all alco-free it is worth getting something nice

I make apple juice with the same spices as the mulled wine.

great, thanks. Might use the Schwartz mulled wine spicebags for the children, I find the spices milder than when you make your own.

They have some in M & S if you want to buy it.

lilolilmanchester · 26/10/2008 20:34

Thanks AbbaFan, bought some a couple of years ago from M&S for a non-drinking adult, but think it might be a bit too full on for kids. Will try a bottle and see - would be a lot easier if the DCs like it. Like the mulled apple juice suggestions too if I have to make from scratch

Yes you could be right! I would go with the apple juice for the kids.

mulled red grape juice.....buy it at lidl and make up as you would the miulled wine.

RantinEminor · 27/10/2008 12:54

Simple. Buy the Bottle Green Company's Spiced Berry Cordial "here"

It's delicious hot for kids or non-drinking adults.
